Re: Proxy bypass

Naw man its not worth it, shag one of the birds in IT that usualy does it!

Apart from that if you can get access to a public proxy page you might be rocking although highly doubtfull but after that its dns tunneling to your own or someones proxy server and thats just not gonna happen.

So the only question left is..... Ribbed or regular?

Re: Proxy bypass

If you really want to go all out you can purchase a service that allows you to redirect all traffic to a specific port. This allows you to get around the proxy and play games at work, if you wanted!

Take a look but I think it may be a bit extreme for what you want but hey if you can play games at work thats a bonus :)

Re: Proxy bypass

Smithster, not sure about that, as you need web access in the first instance ( port 80 ) to actually log on to the website, to then launch the terminal service (RDP). Depends on what access is being limted I suppose. They might even stop that application from the permissions on the exchange.

An alternative, might be able to use DYNDNS on your router at home ( if your dynamic and your router allows it) to get your IP and port forward port 3389 to your switched on PC ip address. ( set your pc to fixed ip ) Then just start the RDP application from work and enter the ip address or dyndns name. Your pc must have the RDP / TS remote access option enabled, and a user account with a password.

The above is a good way of working, but slower and you wont be able to play games. Handy tho.

Cant comment on the other suggestions tho.

Honestly? Unless your IT department are clueless fuckwits or you know one well enough to leave your a door open there is nothing you can do. A webfilter alone these days does more than just block websites and port 80. Most of them will do application filtering and port filtering which will prevent access to the likes of Logmein\GotoMyPc and any proxy\anonymisers you can think of.

Re: Proxy bypass

Just get used to the fact you won't be able to access anything of use from work. Our LA blocks all sorts of useful things - all images (we have to use wiki when producing powerpoints etc), gmail, all forums etc

Some of us used proxies but that has been knocked on the head after the boss sent a warning to everyone that this would result in disciplinary action - its not worth losing your job over, just wait till you get home
I play the game for the game's own sake.
