rite was me bday on sat and wife said she would get me a lap top wanted my opinion b4 she bought thougt she just ment a £300 job would hav been happy with something like that but i dont know what i done 2 deserve it but when i probed her on how much she was going 2 spen she came back with
around £700 well not one 2 argue i said fan dabby dosie just dont know what 2 get now can any of u guys recomend any good ones around this price

Right, if it were only browsing, I would not spend more than £300-400 on it. More than that, waste of money in my opinion.

For gaming - I have had Acer Aspire 1690 series laptop and it's served well. I think they've always have decent performance/money spent ratio. Also, their repair centre is rather reliable, based in Plymouth.

ASUS and MSI seem to have decent graphic cards in their laptops as well - perhaps someone who has better knowledge of those can recommend.

hmm I'd say 13.3" screen is a little small for gaming - you'd end up shooting tiny pixels It only has 2GB of memory which is so so for Vista. Don't know the GPU co can't comment on that.
