well i got all my details prosessed yesterday and i should be connected the first week in May, in regards to the cost, considering where i live and compared to Satillite Broadband its very cheap, BET has cost me £136.20 connection fee and then £18 per month after that for (alegedly) 2Mb connection (i will belive that when i see it)

the satillite cost me £476 connection fee and £28 per month for 512Kb speed, the reliability is shocking and the connection rarely exceeds 16-34Kbs !! Just Gash !!

Laggan is up past Newtonmore, but Glen Tannar is about 10miles up the road from me, but the excange upgrade only effects those living in that Glen, so i dont qualify !

still no sign of them switching on my new connection, they are blaming the area manager leaving about a month ago !! FFS !! so long as its installed before BF3 comes out !

Well supprise, supprise its BT thats totally fuked up my installation over the last two months but after a monumental row (its amazing what fluent scots swearing can get done ) i finally got some sense out of them, and have finally got a date of 28/6/11 for my new broadband to be switched on ! fingers crossed and all that but i will belive it when i see it, its only two months overdue as it is ! cnuts !!!

just got vodafone to sort out my line, while not perfect, it appears that BC2 is now playable again.

in better news i read on the net that my town is going to be part of a 150meg fibre to the home trial.

They took over BTs landline Broadband operation in Ireland a year or so ago

i recived the following Email this morning which got a savage reply !!

Dear Steve,

You're not going to believe this but at the last minute BT have discovered a capacity issue with the cabinet which serves your lines. This means that they need to run a new cable from the exchange to the cabinet and that's going to take up to 5 weeks to complete. See e-mail below from BT.

Needless to say, I'm astounded that this has only been discovered 3 days before the first install was due to be completed.

All scheduled installations are now suspended until this issue is resolved.

I don't really know what to say other than apologies and we'll keep as much pressure on BT as we can to get the work completed.

I'm in the office all day tomorrow if you would like to discuss.
