intalling steam games

hey guys, i need some help. been trying to install a new mod, which i will also post in the games section, for HL2, but i keep getting the msg-

Steam is already running.
You my only run one copy of steam at a time.

please help, as its really annoying. i had to get someone send me TF2 as a gift becuase i couldn't down load it myself.

ones called dystopia, and the other is eternal silence.

i have gone on to offline mode etc and still wont work. works fine on laptop, but i cant play games on laptop.

sorted now. u ran steam as an administrator, and it worked. once i have dl'd it i will post on games forum for discussion.
