K anyone in the know woth mobiles? im gonna phone orange tommorrow, as ive been with em for 18 months now, but just gonna ask here


Im on $30 a month at the moment, but i dont want this at all i dont use the phone enough to jusify it.

So i want to go FROM contract to pay as you go, theres one where u top up $10 a month and get 300 free texts.. great for me

But will orange let me keep the sim card i have now, and the same number?

and also... will they let me downgrade my phone as it were from this WANK 880i back down to the 810i.. or am i asking too much there?

as far as im aware, if u go to pay as u go, u will get a new sim card, should be able to keep the same number by porting it across.

however, if u have been with the a while there may be things u can have as extras.

i have an 18 month contract, but can upgrade every 12 months, with a top of the range phone, every 12 months i get an additional 5% discount on my contract(at the moment i have 15% discount) so my £35 per month contract costs me £29, and i get unlimited broadband for £5(could have free broadband with it but it has capped limits)

give them a call and say that you want to leave orange, they should be able to offer you some decent stuff to stay with them.

as for the phone, on contract, u get free phones, but on pay as you go you have to buy your own phone, so it may cost you to downgrade, however, you could always try to downgrade your contract to a lesser amount per month, but then you may not get the phone you want.

just let them know that ur gonna leave, and they'll give u whatever to make u stay. if a tenner a month does it, they may have a decent contract for $10 a month, where u can get a phone u want.

orange rang today.. offered me unlimited texts, and 200 mins which is what i use really, and a new handset for $17 a month

Orange are quite possibly the worst provider of anything tbh. Ive had plenty and plenty of bad experiences with them. From phone contracts, to the internet wank-ups.

i like orange. haven't done me any wrong.

i knew they would offer you better. if you want, u can try and knock them down by another few bob.

tbh i thought about it.. then i realised that a new phone, 50% reduction on my bills, and the same messages/minutes was kinda enough for me lol



and pony.. ur alone there mate, my whole family is on orange + our broadband is orange, all paying nice rates, nice phones, never had one problem with em at all...

i know it sucks to be the minority that it happens to and nothing can change that, but gotta say overall Orange are a really good provider.. and ive been on 02, Virgin and T-Mobile, and have found Orange to have the best customer service (as long as you dont call on weekends - as u get redirected to india..) and the best plans...

i literally chose what i wanted when the guy phoned today and he went.. yea, yea, yeah whatever u want mate, only thing i couldnt choose really was the upgraded handset, and i knew i wanted Ericsson, and the one i got was the only one available in my price range

k with that sorted im gonna put my old one on Ebay, but thought id post here first see if anyone wants it.

Basically its a Sony Ericsson W880i, on Orange (u can get it unlocked if u want), got the box, charger, im currently looking for the usb adapter its around here somewhere lol i know i have it.

Only thing it doesnt have is the pc suite CD, but u dont need it.. ive not used it once, and i can plug the phone into my pc and use it as a memory stick type thing, and the headphones unfortuantly, unless they turn up in my search when i ransack my room.

It has a 1mb, M2 memory stick.

General wear and tear, screen is fine, no sustantial scratches, and NO cracks at all.

Ill post a photo of it all if anyone is really interested,

Similar sort of a getup is going for around 30 quid for the lot on Ebay so thats what im gonna ask for from anyone here, gonna put the post up on ebay for a bit more in a few days just to see if i can get a bit more

so yeah 30 quid, anyone interested just PM or reply here with questions

heard some good stuff about it, and can also double up as a camera, which is quite important for me

im on orange pay as u go and do the 300 text thing but i dont really use my phone much use the money on it so i can brosw the net lol
