Windows 7: Home Premium or Pro

What with the current discounts on Win 7 I'm tempted to order. One thing I'm not sure about is what version to go for - I would like the pro version but does an extra £50 justify XP mode, domains and automated backups? I currently use MS virtual PC - its quite handy, the question is will it be supported on Premium version of win7? Would be dissapointed if it didn't work but not sure I'm prepared to spend the extra cash for a few features I'd rarely use.

I'll probably end up going for the Premium anyway - just hope MS don't shaft me like the last time I bought legit Windows (after x re-installs your forced to activate over the phone, net activation doesn't work) - as a result I no longer use that particular copy!

im pretty sure virtual pc will run on either version. But they may restrict like hardware virtualisation or something.

Take it as is, i cannot garentee it will work :(

im gonna go for premium, I cant afford to pay the extra bob, I know the extra features on ultimate were not worth it for a home user..... Im gonna assume the same of windows 7

Just placed an order through PC world as Play/Amazon are charging full whack again. Decided what the hell go for the pro edition. Whilst I won't be using domain stuff too often it is handy to have and I will definately make use of remote desktop which is apparently missing from premium.

Not too painful at just under £90.

Pro versions are always worth it IMO otherwise you are really restricted when it comes to networking.

I know phone activation is a pain but to be honest it only takes 5 mins and I've never been questioned (have had to do it a LOT of times due to hardware reconfigurations on my various computers and technical support / reinstalls provided to mates)
