Yah- Old boy was on UK TV a few weeks ago. Missed the first 5 minutes but it was good. Though I did see the plot twist coming a mile away. Was most enjoyable.

TAEGUKGI (2004) ["Tae-geuk-gi"] dir. Kang Je-gyu. Starring Jang Dong-gun, Won Bin, Lee Eun-ju, Jo Yoon-hee, Gong Hyung-jin, Lee Young-ran. 140 min. World distribution: US, Japan, France, Germany, UK, etc. Available on DVD with English subtitles.
Two brothers are forcibly drafted into the army in the chaotic days after the start of the war. The older and less-educated of the two decides that the only way to secure the discharge of his brother is to win a Medal of Honor. Yet as the war progresses and the tide of the battle turns towards the South, he begins to get caught up in the fighting and the brothers grow estranged. Set a record for the best-selling Korean film of all time with 11.7 million tickets sold.
My Dad has that on DVD in his massive war and western film collection.
However neither of us have watched it.
If I wanted to read what was going on in the film I would have read the book.*
*I fcuking hate subtitles.

Crying Fist is damn good.
I watch quite alot of asain films, bloody love em.
A few directors i would recommend.
Kim ki-Duk - Spring Summer Autumn Winter and Spring. 3 Iron. Samaritan Girl. Breath
Jim Ji-Woon - A Bittersweet life. Tale of Two Sisters.
Jonnie To - Election part I and II. Throw Down
When I Think of some more ill post em

Fuck off Tom didn't know you still posted.
Yeah agree with you though, Tale of 2 Sisters isn't for everyone as it is BLOODY slow, but if u watch it 3rd time round you get things so much more and it is fucking immense.
Dark Water is good, granted Jennifer Garner is fitter than the Asian bitch in Dark Water, but the Asian one is better overall.
Public enemy is good; bit random and disjointed, but has violence and japs shooting each other... what fucking more do you want?
What was the one that was on C4 a few months ago? About a girl in a mental home, it was so immense, it had a weird title im sure, and was directed by Duk or Woon i'm sure...
Oh fuck this is gonna annoy me all day..
