Re: the beta f'tang mentioned here: http://forum.ofc-gaming.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4480

I just tried it, and have uninstalled it straight away. My CPU usage went to 100% and made playing even CSS impossible.

Took me ages to get my games working again last night.

Had to delete steam and all my game files, and download them all again. So I finally managed to get on BC2 at about 2330, only to find the respawn lag bug (which I didn't have previously) .

That bug is due to AVG Resident Shield, Slarti told me about this and I know that No Fear and Tempest had the same issue

I sorted it, but I didn't have AVG installed, it was caused by MSE. Strange that it's start being an issue when it hadn't in the past.

So I avoid it, what's MSE?

Microsoft Security Essentials.

My issue was caused by the "Real Time Protection", similar to the AVG Resident guard. The lag issue was easily sorted by adding one of the BC2 config files to the exempt list.
