ok this may sound dumb but i let my wife on the pc and when i went on after her the recycale bin was gone and i hav no idea what she done or how to get it back lol

lol, same happend to me a while back. In vista just go to the Control Panel -> Personalization options, and then in the task menu click "Change desktop icons" and just click the Recycle Bin checkbox. I have no idea how to fix it in xp or windows 7
